The detailed IP programme is designed by highly qualified professional and external experts with a great range of expertise in the field. The IP presents a strong multidisciplinary approach whose focus is to strengthen the international collaboration.
One objective of the intensive programme is to create multidisciplinary and multilateral networks between teachers, experts and students from the partner EU higher education institutions which due to their specific educational training systems and objectives offer different perspectives and approaches on the topics covered. The professional network that will be established due to this IP will determine closer links among the partner institutions and thus the permeability through the student and teacher will be provided mobility in the future.
The wide objective of the IP is to bring together professors and students from EU countries to raise a strong awareness on the C2C approach and to understand what C2C is and what is not, to learn the C2C principles and its language and be able to transfer the message to others within organizations from a multidisciplinary perspective. The IP promotes teamwork and citizenship, engaged problem-solving by assignments and small projects in the specific context and gives participants the ability to make connections across the disciplines. Through this IP, the students as well as the teaching staff will get to know each other’s culture and there will be facilitated discussions on each institution’s educational system by making comparisons on the stage of implementing the concept of Cradle-to-Cradle in each institution’s curriculum.
Among the partner institutions there are no significant differences in the stages of introducing the concept of Cradle-to-Cradle in the curriculum of the students attending environmental, architecture or business related study programmes.
Thus, in countries like Romania, the concept started to be introduced one year ago in the curriculum of environmental programmes, but it is still underrepresented. However, it is not present in the curriculum of architectural, business and technology-related study programmes. Almost the same situation happens in Hungary, Slovakia and Italy, the concept being underrepresented in all these four fields of activity.
Thus, the present IP has in view to create new and innovative training modules that can offer an additional, more-insightful and multidisciplinary-approached information (environmental, architecture, business) in the field of C2C due to the great variety of perspectives offered by the teachers and experts included in the programme (e.g. C2C seen as a business concept; C2C as an environmental concept- holistic approach; C2C in architecture – green buildings.)
In the one year programme we plan to combine traditional techniques with new ones by using instruments like: Three scene story-boarding, serious/simulation gaming – Simplycyle, all of them being assisted by ICT technology to establish innovative programmes.
The establishment of digital knowledge database that could be the basis of the expansion of lifelong learning and making it available to everybody. We ensure that the entire developed digital curriculum will be made available electronically to the students and teachers of all four participant institutions.
The developed programmes will be functioning as an entity, connecting the environmental science, architecture and business, being also completed by the socio-cultural dimension.
